Kentucky Shakespeare is offering a 25 percent “New Year's Education Sale” to schools and organization that book any of the theater's education programs by Jan. 31, 2013.
The theater's “Education Catalog” includes such programs as “Bard Buddies” for kindergarten through third grade, “Inspecting Shakespeare” for grades four through 12, and “Staging Shakespeare” also for grades four through 12, as well as a 60-minute American civics lesson called “Living History: We the People.”
This year, the theater is also touring a two-person Julius Caesar for kindergarten through eighth grade and the Julius Caesar Spring Tour for grades six through 12. These touring programs not only introduce students to Shakespeare but also discuss conflict resolution in a safe and educational manner.
The theater's catchment area for its education programs is the entire state of Kentucky plus portions of Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, South Carolina, and West Virginia. These Kentucky Shakespeare education programs can help schools fulfill Common Core State Standards in reading, language, and speaking and listening, and the theater is now offering writing prompts aimed at preparing students for state assessments.
Prices range from $375 for the Bard Buddies and Staging Shakespeare programs to $535 for Inspecting Shakespeare, We the People, and the two-person Caesar, and $1,500 for the spring tour of Julius Caesar—minus 25 percent if you book in the month of January.
