As it embarks on its seventh season, the Vermont Shakespeare Company is embarking on a new partnership with the University of Vermont (UVM) and, in doing so, adding a third venue for this summer's offering, William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
In addition to its annual performances at Knight Point State Park in North Hero, Aug. 9–10 at 6 p.m., the company will be staging shows at the Shelburne Museum Circus Lawn in Shelburne on Aug. 13–14, both at 6 p.m.
For the first time, the company is adding a third set of shows, and these will be at UVM's Royall Tyler Theatre. "The season will conclude with Vermont Shakespeare Company and the UVM Department of Theatre initiating a partnership with the mission of bringing Shakespeare back to the Royall Tyler Theatre while providing professional opportunities for students in the UVM Theatre Department," said a company press release. The Aug. 16 show will be at 7:30 p.m., and Aug. 17 at 2 p.m.
For the two outdoor shows, patrons should bring their own lawn seats. For the Royall Tyler Theatre presentations, seating will be general admission. Tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for seniors, $15 for students, and free for children under 12 accompanying a ticketed adult. For tickets, call 802-863-5966 or visit www.flynntix.org. Tickets will also be available on site.
